אל: ראש עיריית ירושלים מר אורי לופוליאנסקי פקס': 6296014-02 אנו אוהבי שכונת בקעה ותושביה, מביעים בזאת את
התנגדותנו המוחלטת לתוכנית העירייה להפרת מרקם החיים השכונתי השלו של שכונת בקעה, ע"י הפיכת הרחובות יהודה ודרך בית לחם לנקזי תנועה ראשיים מדרום העיר למרכזה. אנחנו אומרים שני לאווים מוחלטים: • לא לפתיחת רחוב יהודה לזרימת תנועה מדרך חברון • לא לרמזורים בדרך בית לחם תכנית העירייה לשינויי התנועה באזור בקעה אינה מביאה בחשבון את איכות החיים שלנו, את בטיחות ילדינו, ואת תרבות הפנאי והמסחר של השכונה. דרך בית לחם ורחוב יהודה עלולים להפוך למלכודות מוות להולכי רגל, ילדים וזקנים, ולנקז אלפי מכוניות רועשות ומזהמות אל תוככי הסימטאות השקטות של שכונת בקעה, תוך פגיעה באיכות חייהם של אלפי אזרחים. אנו נפעל בכל האמצעים העומדים לרשותנו, בכדי להעביר את רוע הגזירה של הפיכת שמורת הטבע העירונית הייחודית שטיפחנו עשרות שנים, לציר תנועה מרכזי, מרומזר, מזהם ומסוכן להולכי רגל. אל תדרסו את בקעה!!
To: The Mayor of Jerusalem Mr. Uri Lupolianski Fax #: +972-2-6296014 We, friends and residents of Baka neighborhood, Strongly object the municipality's plan to destroy the peaceful and residential quality of the Baka neighborhood, by turning Yehuda Street and Betlehem Road into main traffic routes from the south of the city to its center. We definitely reject two elements of the proposed plan: • No to opening Yehuda Street to traffic from Hebron Road! • No to traffic lights on Betlehem Road! The municipal plan for traffic changes in Baka do not take into account our quality of life, our children's security and the peaceful nature of this residential neighborhood. Betlehem Road and Yehuda Street may become death traps to pedestrians, children and old people, and drain thousands of noisy, air polluting cars into the quiet alleys of Baka, hurting the quality of life of thousands of citizens. We will take all available measures in order to avert the distress of the decree of turning the unique urban nature reserve that we nurtured for decades, into a central, air polluting, traffic route. Don't destroy Baka!!

A. Arnona is due very soon. Many people pay in advance or by standing order. All should pay at the latest possible legal date, the difference is about 2% and seeing as you are paying six or eight months later it makes economic sense to wait anyway. This will create a hole of millions of shekels in the Iriya's bank account and may help.
B.A suggested investigation into the costs of the light railway as a whole, the way Derech Chevron and Derech Bet Lechem have each been dug up four or more times (and soon again?) and how much money was wasted and how this could happen may also be a tactic to try. I wonder who authorized all the repeated work and what their motivation was?
C. Any demonstrations should block Derech Chevron, not Bet Lechem so it can be seen what happens when this is done.
Try to add the residents of Derekh Hevron to your protest. THEIR quality of life is also in question and not just the residents of the charming, pastoral Beith Lehem road
